Why you chose your major

I have always been interested in current events and politics, so majoring in political science was a no-brainer for me. I took an introductory psychology course while I was in my sophomore year and I really enjoyed it, so I decided to add it as a second major.

Favorite and/or most impactful course

My most impactful class has been a political theory class called Justice and the Good Life. We learned about the theories behind different political actions and systems. This class really made me think critically about my individual impact in society.

Research or internship experience

I am an undergraduate research assistant for a political psychology lab that studies people's political decision-making and motivation. I have the opportunity to work with research participants and learn from graduate students and faculty who are currently conducting research.

Other involvement

I am a Resident Assistant in one of the dorms on campus, so I get to work with a lot of first year students and help them find their place here at the university. I have the chance to share resources with students, encourage them to join clubs they may be interested in, support them in finding jobs or internships, and overall, just be there for them as a friend and helping hand.

Why you chose Nebraska

I decided to come to Nebraska because we have a great political science program and because it is close enough to home that I can go back if I need anything, but still far enough away that I have independence from my family.

Student Ambassadors are undergraduate students who talk to prospective students, parents, alumni, and the general public about the college.
