Stephanie Ninneman | Senior Accounting
Employed by the Bureau of Sociological Research
Our first Ovation for the new academic year is earned by Stephanie Ninneman, a senior in Accounting, working in the Bureau of Sociological Research. As her nominations say, "Stephanie Ninneman definitely deserves a "standing" Ovation! ... Her commitment and her dedication to her employment with the BOSR have far exceeded the expectations of any student worker that has ever passed through our doors. The BOSR has experienced unprecedented growth and challenges while Stephanie has worked for us and she has been a rock solid foundation throughout the transition. Stephanie started with us as a data entry person and her talents were quickly recognized and utilized to support a wide variety of the more tedious yet essential tasks associated with operating a survey research operation. She has mastered every task presented to her and continues to provide essential support and guidance to those who work in our organization...
"We lost our only two full time accounting staff. Before leaving, they trained Stephanie in all the work that she could do, and in all that the new person would need to do. Stephanie learned everything, and carried the BOSR accounting work during that time. She worked with the university accounting staff, grants and contracts and HR as necessary to help us stay afloat. Now that we have hired two new accountants, both are thrilled at all that Stephanie knows and is doing for us. They are impressed with her professionalism and knowledge. They are also impressed with all that she did while without a direct supervisor...
"She also had to divide her work time between two departments, one located at Benton Hall and the other in Oldfather Hall. Her performance in this department, particularly her accounting knowledge, has been exemplary. Her calm manner and her willingness to help others, above and beyond what is normally expected, has helped make this transition time a more positive experience than it would have been... In the year or so that she has been working for us, she has shown that she can work on any task (from the mundane data entry to complicated accounting) and complete it with accuracy and skill. She has proven herself to be an important part of the Bureau team. She never complains and is always willing to stay late and finish a task. She consistently goes above and beyond what is expected of a student worker. We're very lucky to have her working with us at the Bureau!..."
