Ashley Knott | Art History and Criticism major
Employed by Chemisty

Our Ovation for March goes out to Ashley Knott, sophomore Art History and Criticism major working in Chemistry. As her nominations say, "Ashley Knott began working in the Chemistry Purchasing/Stockroom office in November of 2005. She has been a great asset to that office in assisting the faculty, students and staff with their needs. She is more than just a student worker, she is like one of the regular purchasing staff. I've often heard "we couldn't operate without Ashley". She is also called upon to assist other areas of the Chemistry Department, such as the main Business Office, and Chair's Office when an errand or other task needs handling. Ashley is always friendly and service oriented...

"She has been very dependable. She calls ahead if she is unable to come in, or running late and she's all about business when on the clock. We appreciate her and the help she provides. Ashley goes above and beyond her duties... Though Ashley's duties for the department are mostly clerical, she has occasionally been "drafted" to perform some of the repetitive and time consuming tasks required for the operation of undergraduate teaching labs like fixing unknown labels on bottles to be given to students. When there are 600+ students in a class, this simple task of identifying bottles for unknowns can take more time than filling the bottle with the unknown...

"Ashley is a dependable, reliable, hard working and extremely pleasant addition to the entire Chemistry Department. It is not often you can find a student worker who you can have full trust in that the job will be done well... Ashley always has a cheerful demeanor and a helpful hand. She attends to even the most tedious of chores with a willingness and happy disposition...

"Ashley is not a person to sit and wait for someone to tell her to do something. She learns fast and does her assigned task with a very pleasant manner. When she is finished, she looks for other work to be done and people to assist. Odd and uninviting tasks that must be done to keep the Chemistry Department running are accepted by Ashley without complaint. She is on time, efficient, quiet and very pleasant to work with... I know Ashley is the picture of an ovation award winner and someone who will be an asset to what ever she does in the future..."
