With an amazing 14 nominations, our Ovation for September goes out to Collette Joy, a senior Marketing and Management major working in Anthropology & Geography. As her nominations say, "We have had many worthy work study students in our department over the years, but Colette stands out. There is no task that she cannot handle, regardless of complexity. As Chair I look to Colette to explain the intricacies of electonic submissions, and I trust her with the most confidential of communications. She can even decipher my hand writing. Her personality shines, and the office is always a better place when she is present. I might add that she is also Assistant Residence Director of Burr--Fedde, and Love halls,and she does all this while maintaining a 3.89 cumulative grade point average... She does such outstanding work and she is so efficient in her job duties that we are so lucky to have her! We can always count on Colette's work to be accurate and she saves our time by stepping in and helping us in whatever needs to be done to run a smooth office! We are confident that she can tackle any size of a job without any problems and the outcome would be exceptionally well done!...

"She's efficient at her tasks and is always ready to help you if you need it - especially with our extremely temperamental copy machine... She is always willing to work on whatever project that she is giving and does so with an outstanding attitude... Colette has created an inventory system along with updating some of our Access programs to simplify our office information processing... Colette always shows up ready for work with a smile on her face. She maintains a positive attitude regardless of what task we ask her to do. Colette is so friendly to everyone who comes into the office that I honestly believe that she makes the office much more cohesive...

""Let's ask Colette to do that" is a common phrase heard around our office. And she does! She loves organizing and has taken on setting up filing systems, video cataloging, and challenges of organizing an entire room. But she goes beyond that, she is proficient in preparing correspondence and handling inquiries in the department. Her personality is one that matches her last name and she definitely is part of our "team." Our department is a better place because of Colette... She takes the initiative in seeking out other ways she can help the office be more productive, and always has great ideas to accomplish those goals. She is quick to complete assigned tasks, but just as quickly will jump in to help someone else that needs it without complaint... I cannot remember a time when she was not in a good mood, eager to help and fun. She's made a great relationship with everyone in the department and she's always ready to help. We cannot give her enough praise, thanks and support..."
