The Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Recruitment Office can help you if you are a high school student thinking about coming to the University of Nebraska and are interested in a department or program within the College of Arts and Sciences.
The Admissions Office is your primary contact as a new student. In addition, Recruitment Office Coordinator Laura Hanzl can guide you to informational events and programs, as well as to people who can answer questions about your college interests. You can also talk to current students, our college ambassadors, who can tell you about life in class and on and off campus. Prospective undergraduate students can hear directly from current Arts and Sciences undergraduates about the benefits of College departments, programs, and activities.
Some events currently held by the University and departments within Arts and Sciences are:
- Red Letter Days, which provide high school students with an introduction to the University.
- Big Red Welcome, which lets students learn about University departments and programs, classroom and non-classroom student involvement opportunities, and Lincoln businesses.
- Math Day and Chemistry Day, which let high school students interested in these subjects compete in individual and team competitions.
If you are interested in learning more about these programs, contact Laura. If your interests lie in another subject within the Arts and Sciences, Laura can direct you to the person or people at the University who can help.
